Guys, My Focus is driving me daft. If the fuek drops below a quarter tank full, it dies due to lack of fuel. I have had a new fuel pump and sender fitted, but still have the same problem. When petrol is over quarter full car runs as normal. Any suggestions????

It's possible the fuel filter needs replacing. Maybe you got some dirty petrol that is clogging injectors? Have you tried using a fuel additive such as diptane

Dipetane burns the carbons that would normally cause carbon deposit build-up, therefore extending both your oil and engine life. Proven in over 100 million miles of service, Dipetane improves fuel economy, reduces emissions, extends oil life and reduces engine wear.

Hi, Thanks for your suggestion, I forgot to mention fuel filter was changed along with the new pump. A guy from ask ford.com seems to think it could be the fuel tank filler cap causing a vacuum, been advised to slacken it off, and if it works get a new cap, as there should be a one way valve in it that mat be faulty. Sounds strange to me, as it just looks like a lump of plastic to me. Can't say I noticed any type of valve in it, but then again I've never looked at it in any detail. Have you ever heard of this before?? Cheers
