Hi , lost my car key , i only had one given upon purchase , i have a 1999 1.8 focus,
I wa s told by ford that only way to get key cut and programmed was to remove the door barrell , which i have done , eventually . But now they want th ecar as well !
Apparently need programming via laptop ? Also key number is inside barrell , havnt attemptedto dismantle that , dont think i will .
My question is , Ford is wiling to make a key up , probable cost £40 , after dismantling barrell. But to program key cost another £100-120 .
Is there any way i can program the key ? what do i need apart from a laptop , any special software , connecting leads ect ?thanks.
