Thinking Of Buying A Zetec S

I have a few questions about them that hopefully people will be able to answer. Firstly I'm just wondering if they have many known faults and if they're generally considered to be reliable? Also, is the engine decent? Don't want to end up with someone that's underpowered for a 1.6. I was originally thinking of getting a SEAT Ibiza 1.4 Sport until I read that it doesn't really have anything that that earns in the Sport title. I assume this isn't the case with the Zetec S but was hoping for a few opinions to make sure. I'll be getting an 06/07 reg with no more than 30k miles.

Thanks.

Well, for starters, you will need very late 08-09, and go for the petrol version.

I have 1.6 diesel titanium, and thought that was great, until I took a petrol zetec s for a drive, and that was even better!

As for issues, some do, some don't. I myself, have a wheel problem (only car I've damaged wheel/tyres on 5+8=13!) Appart from that, it's never had a problem, and faultlessly been through 2 services.

Should have mine in 10 days (ish) will let you know then!

One that new is a bit out of my price range unfortunately. 07 is as new as I could go. I only have around 5k to spend.

You might be able to get a MK6, as MK7s have a higher resale value, my early 58 has just traded in at 7800!

You can pick up a well kept mk6 ZS for that money :)

aye, the mk6 is what I've been looking at. Just meant an 07 reg is about the newest I could afford judging by autotrader. Wont be buying for a couple of months though.
