jas69 Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 have just brought my son a focus 1.6 zetec , and on the drive home the speedo stopped working then the mileometer had dashes across it, it stayed like that for a few miles then came back on. its done it a few times now any ideas please? johnH Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 did you buy from dealer, or private...if it was dealer take it back and get them to fix it for free, legal requirement. you could try and follow the sticky on the top of the focus forum, regarding the dash trick. see if everything works as it should and if there are any dtc codes. MrRedman Posted January 30, 2011 Share Posted January 30, 2011 Happened to mine its the speedo sensor about 35pound for the part dont do it yourself though it can snap in the gearbox.also the radio volume can be affected it lowered on mine when the speedo went faulty.
