£120 from Ford for front Speakers and adapters. The fronts can be fitted in under an hour. The rears are more complicated to fit and probably wouldnt make much difference to the sound quality. Not too sure about the sub.

I fitted the front Speakers and the sound quality is definetely better!

I was wondering and if anyone can tell me... would it be better to get sony head unit (the one that is standard in titanium nowdays) or fit amplifier instead?

Amps are usually always but into teh boot, in most cases for normal users the amp will be screwed into one of the metal rear seat backs you see from the boot, usually to teh left (same side as the battery in the engine, easier to wire), then the wires should discretly tuck down into the surrounding carpets.

Ill say it again tho..I wouldnt consider an Amp without a CleanSweep filter...would sound pretty terrible coing from the standard HU.

Same reason I woulnt use teh Pioneers TBH, they are still running from the stock HU it came with, doesnt matter what Speakers are at the other end...any upgarde money they ask for I would sink into a proper install.

a Cleansweep and Amp...no point having an Amp without flattening the sound out form teh stock HU.

Good tip from strutter here.

I have watched demonstations on youtube of that Cleansweep you mentioned. Impressive stuff i must say. Are there any alternatives to this as its very hard to get in the uk?

I think i would do this in order:

Better front Speakers,

Better rear Speakers,

Cleansweep with amp or sony head unit from scrapyard (i would also buy amp if the sound wouldnt be good enough)

Subwoofer

Last question. Wouldnt be good idea to mount amp under passanger's seat?

i just want the Speakers to come out with a better sound when ya turn them up abit! i dont want fat bass and all that i just want better sound on the higher end of the volume :)... would the sony HU make much difference??? and if anyone can think of a better (preferably cheaper way) of stopping the power fading i would be forever in ya debt!

and as for the amp... dont ya think running one to the boot is abit much?? i not interested in a sub in the boot at all

Its very easy to get the in the Uk really..MTX do a good Budget- midrange

Better fronts, and replace the tweeters in the door handles as well!..these are prob the worst part of teh whole setup in the fords, extremely tinny

Dont bother with rear Speakers, ya dont turn your back to the stage when yrou at a concert so dont set your car up inthe same way!

Mtx Cleansweep the 4 channel amp..2 channels for the fronts, the you can "bridge" the remaing to power a small sub in the boot.

If ya have the money you can put an Amp anywhyere you want, but putting it in the boot is best..can be earth easily..all the cables can be ran down the side of the car (as said battery side on the fiesta to make installation easy/ cheaper) earthing etc.

Honestly..doing anything but this is throwing money away for diminished or worse returns, im happy to just use the factory setup till I get the full install done in a few months.

The Sony unit is "marginally better" after trying one out, the pioneers are in no way unique to ford and are jsut based on their entry level speaks on the market rebranded.

All the Ford/ Sony units suffer the same problem, levelling the sound when you push it from 13 Vol up it will level the bass off, but its not a good way of doing things...as when that happens the Mid sounds are completely killed off, and I mean worse that what you got in the older fiestas, completely awful, vocals are out the window!

Does not matter what Speakers you have connected at the other end..the root problem is always going to be evident. And for the money you are thinking of spending..save longer and do it right...and you will never regret it.

Im not trying to scare ya off or anything lol, if ya think the Speakers will help dont listen to me and go buy them!

But in all honesty for the price Ford ask for them, fitting etc for very little returns....if ya wait and get sommin along the lines I posted..when ya get in and hear the first 3 chords of a track playing thru you wont regret it.

Yea im saving a while myself, but after having a similar setup in the the mk 6.5 (tho I didnt need to cleansweep the HU as you could easily replace the HU in them), I cant go back to anything else, what ya get in the Fiestas is pretty decent to be fair for a factory fitted system.

THo I also wanted to sound prood the doors and place the tweeter in teh front pillers for better sound again.

Ill say it again..im not saying Pioneers are a total waste of time and money, you should get some better results...what im saying is for the price they ask for everything...theirs much much better ways to invest your money!

I've spoken to a few specialist ICE installers about this.

They recon replacing all the Speakers with something of higher quality and sound deading the car a bit more, whilst installing a modest sub under the seat (as I dont want in boot), and an amp should give better sound quality than my last BOSE installation which was pretty darn good.

I shall ask them about what you have mentioned though.

Apparently according to the professionals, you shouldn't require a Cleansweep as the car is not factory amplified.

So no need to spend the cash there.

Thanks

Well who ever your "talked" too hasnt got a !Removed! clue..cause it has NOTHING to do with amplification!..nothing at all.

EVERY single stock HU on the market needs a CS installed.

I'm gonna research into it a bit more, but I'm probably going to go with that the, company that has a sucessful business based around stereo upgrades probably knows what they're doing.

Agree with Strutter there, It requires the cleansweep to remove any of the corrections the stereo makes to the signal, before

amplification, so that you may then connect up amps, and decent Speakers post cleansweep.

Looks like an interesting piece of Kit though, but a bit of research needed to find if it does exactly what I need. I don't want to change the factory fitted stereo for losing the controls is a bit of a nightmare, but I could really do with some higher quality sound, my ears are far too used to decent sound..

The factory fitted controls or bluetooth voice commands etc, none of that is effected, in fact none of that is even touched, the only thing touched is the actuale output from the HU, which is just the speaker cables.

Heres a vid best describing it and hwo it works etc.

THey must be ever so good at fitting some 6x9 Speakers into parcel shelves.....did they get their traing from Helfords?

I wouldnt take my car there to check my tire pressure!

THe fords Stock HU Equilised band for the poor Speakers is really obvious...just open yoru ears!
