Sparky2011
Hello All. Hope somebody can help..!! I have the Fault Code: B1342 on my Mondeo MK3 2.0 Ghia 2002. The company can repair the ECU but require it out of the car for 5 days. In this climate, a hire car will cost £200 plus the repair cost of the ECU. Will the car still operate in the same way to get to work? I understand that the Airbags will be compromised and also the Seat Belt warning light will be illuminated. Would there be anything that would prevent me from using the car on a day to day basis? Cheers. Sparky.
btmaldon
I would not have thought so. Only with your insurance should you suffer injury as a result of an accident. Are you sure its the ECU at fault and not the connections under the seat. Sometimes these work loose, usually if the seat is moved back and forth regularly.
Sparky2011
Hello again all. Just a few questions. Would anybody know the part number for an Airbag ECU for a Mondeo MK3 Ghia 2.0 Litre 2002 Petrol car. Can i reset the ECU myself or do i need a garage to reset it for me? I have spoken to the ECU Repair company and they say that they can not repair them. They can only reset the crash data. I have not had a crash in the car. It all started when my neighbour borrowed my car to jump start theirs and i have had this problem since. Which code reader would you advise on purchasing for this car? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Paul.
