Installing Aftermarket Head Unit / Stereo

Hi Help needed please,

I have installed several stereos in previous cars but now have a Mk1 Focus which has a double din radio installed.

The questions are as follows, once the original unit is removed

1. Does the new unit go into the top or bottom half of the available space (or does it not matter)

2. Assuming that the metal cage has to be used I cannot see anyway of holding into place as there seems to be nowhere to press out the metal clips and hold them in place

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

My first fiesta was double din, and i had to buy a facia, which filled the gap, but if i remember correctly, the facia could only go on one way.

As for the metal cage, again my stereo came with one and it just seemed to fit...

I hope that answers your questions.

Hi

Thanks for reply,

Have now fitted unit on bottom half of available space (extra support provided by heater control switch panel) with facia on top half. Seems to be working fine so far
