Excessive oil loss on a 1.25 engine

I have had two Fiesta's with 1.25 engines, both started to lose oil via the valves seals after 55K miles. This is a well known problem on the earlier cars pre-2002. Has anyone experienced the same on fiesta 1.25 post-2002? Thanks in advance.

anybody have an idea of the official oil consumption figures on 125 zetec fiestas??? i have a 99 125 thats seeing off 2 litres of 5/30 in about 2000 miles. the lady who owns it is asking me did the garage who fixed it for her top up the oil?????? i explained that i didnt fix her car, i just dipped the oil for her in the street !!
