right chaps im a bit lost here , just bought a really tidy 1.8 lx mondeo for silly money really nice clean interior and externally its mint , but thats where the good part stops ..............

my code reader says misfire on cylinder 1 ummmmmmmmm .........

so i change leads ........... not the problem .........

so i changed the coil pack ........not the problem .........

i changed plugs around ............ not the problem ...........

but i do think the rocker gasket is a bit gone as the plugs are covered in fresh clean oil ................

i beginning to think its dropped a valve , i even nicked the coil pack off me 2.0l just to check it with no avail ....

if it dropped the valve im quite compendent to do the job ive done many many diesel engine heads .......

just looking to satisfy my suspections before i go ahead and strip it down ......

is there anything else silly im missing ...........

many thanks

Is the misfire noticeable, or is it only showing up on your code reader?

If its only on your reader, I would sort the rocker cover and leave it like that.
