Hello all,
I have an 1.8 Ford Escort.
While driving to work yesterday suddenly my battery light went on and my power steering stopped working. When I pulled over there was a loud rattling from the engine watercooler.
Any ideas what the problem could be?

it sounds like a drive belt has snapped and got entangled in the fan, check for a broken belt.
