hi

wonder if someone can advise.

have just had a witter towbar fitted to my new mondeo the towbar came off my last car 2008 mondeo

both are hatchback zetecs and i believe the towbar is the same

my query is that the garage a witter recommended dealer gave me the steel bumper beam and said

that it was not needed until i remove the towbar again

i did not get told this on my last mondeo nor did i receive the bumper beam

i am just worried that this beam should have been refitted

can anyone help please

thanks

the bumper beam should have been refitted if the tow bar was removed, can you get in touch with who fitted the tow bar to the 2008 car and ask them what happened to the bumper beam?

thanks for a promt reply, the same company that origionally fitted the towbar to the 2008 car has taken off the tow bar and replaced it on this one (the 2011 mondeo)

i think you possibly answered my concern ie should the bumper bar have been put back on to the new car along with the tow bar?

a bit of misunderstanding on my part on reading the original post so lets try again i thought you were concerned about the bar being refitted to the 2008 car, according to the tow bar fitting instructions the tow bar replaces the bumper bar,so the bumper bar will only be refitted if the tow bar is removed from the car, the two can not be fitted at the same time.

Thanks that was my concern. i was a bit unclear with my question initially and should have explained

i was just confused because i was not given the bumper beam when the towbar was fitted to my last

mondeo back in 2008i assumed that it had remained on the car

once again thanks for your reply
