JohnJohn1983
Hi, Im john from north london, Ive had my escort now since Dec 2003 and cant seem to change cars. Shes been off the road for 8 months but I now plan on bringing her back as all she needs is a good service new breaks and shoes etc and a new set of wheels. Shes modified but the engine is completely standard. Im courious to know how long the engine will go on for as shes done over 200,000 miles and has never broke down. Parts have been replaced of corse but the weird thing is the parts have never completely failed, they were always on there way out but never completely failed. I noticed this with the clutch in 1st few years as it kept slipping in the end I had the cash to get it replaced. Shes been an amazing car like that and a very popular car in my area, Id share afew pictures. Just wana get her back on the road for now. She attended a Ford santa pod show with PassionFord Enfield back in 2006. Since then she has been hit by a hit and run driver during the night witch messed up the near side front wing and wish bone so then had her painted in candy red. But last year someone keyed the offside rear door witch Proper Pi*sed me off. Oh I havent mentioned shes a 1.6L special edition escort mk6. The one without the rev counter. I put a dial display from a GTI but still no rev counter action but would love to get that working. In the future I would love to fit a 2.0ltr Ford ST engine. The pictures below where taken a little while after the Candy red paint job. Hope you like her :-)

MRC89
I like the paint job, refreshes and updates the look of the old escort. Though, personally, I'd never go that far with the body kit, It's obvious you've put a lot of hard work into this car, which I admire. You don't see many 200,000 mile-old cars that shiny! Welcome to the community, Hope you find the help your looking for and enjoy your time here. :)
vinnyvangough
Hi and welcome Bodykit is not to my taste but as said above, can appriciate the hard work gone into it. Colour is lovely As long as the engine is well looked after they can go on for miles. The 1.6 is ok but is a little underpowered. To fit a ST engine will take a bit of fabrication to the engine mounts and a total re-wire.
JohnJohn1983
Thanks for the comments and welcome. Took ages to pick a body kit, I havent gone for anything too over the top, just something that suites the car all the way round as alot of kits the front would look nice but I wouldnt like the look of the rear. The Kit on her now is a Combat 2 kit and was the only kit I liked the look of from the front and back. had the custom exhaust made to fit that rear bumper and got an expensive alarm which is another reason why dont wana start again on a different escort. Does anyone know how to get my rev counter working?
