I drive an s-max on an 09 plate driving home and the red light (looks like a battery) on the speedo stays on if I stop and turn off the ignition it goes out but comes on after 200 yds any Ideas.Thanks

Means your battery is low on charge - after a few yds the alternator charges it and hence it goes out.
Do you have an aftermarket alarm, radio or sat-nav installed - or do you leave something plugged into one of the power sockets? Maybe something is draining the battery too much between uses?
Or does your dashboard stay lit up after you have locked the car?

Hi I do have a radio but the fault has got worse the steering has now gone so I back to the dealers. Thanks
