Car is not being nice to me again i was going to get round to do my ht leads this weekend but the weather has been crap. But i have notice when we had the nice weather last week the car has been running great no sputtering normal. So parked the car up saturday night that night it rained allnight and allday sunday and most of monday. Now i did not use the car all sunday come to it monday afternoon got in it and it started to sputter again.

Now me is thinking when it rains and is left allday without moveing of my driveway and i get in it the following day it sputters but if i leave it allday without moveing it when the weather is really hot the following day is fine. So somewere along the line is rain water getting in somewere i.e. through the washer jets or is it my car does not like rain lol i don't know anyone know thanks.

spluttering to me suggests your HT leads, but since its distributorless ignition, i can't see how damp could affect it too much. someone on here might correct me on that.

I may be corrected too, but if the HT leads were beginning to deteriorate, then they could be shorting with the damp/ Open up your bonnet in the dark and rain, and if you can see flashes then they are shorting and should be replaced. Don't know if you can still get "damp start" or it's modern equivalent, but you could try to find that and spray it onto the leads and see if it makes any difference.

if your thinking that the car is spluttering after rain i would make sure under the bonnet is dry but i would be more concerned with making sure that no water is getting in to the ecu or its connections

Very very peed off got my ht leads today me thinking all is good might get to sort the problem so i stuggle and i mean stuggle to get one lead off from the coil pack has the coil pack sits deep down in the engine stupid place me think. So finaly get one lead of so i compared it with the new ones to find that the new ones are alot smaller than the old ht leads even the biggest new lead was way to small so not happy at all.

How hard can it be to order new leads the person in the shop took my reg etc so u can't go wrong there.
