Dorfer
One of the very few mods I want to make to my 07 Mk6.5 1.4 Zetec TDCI is to make it sounds ok. At the moment, it sounds like a London Taxi... Not good! My question is that would it be worth fitting a cone filter and/or an induction kit to the car? I know it wont increase the power of the car but would it make a difference with the sound. Then again is theres anything I can do with the engine, without scrapping it, that would also alter the sound? Thanks in advance for any advice :)
Nico.
for the mk6 i aint too sure, i know there are millions of kits available, there are a few issues though. because the mk6's have that stupidly located airbox, if you want to just slab a cone on it will suffer heavily from heat soak with its location, abit like this one or you can get a full hose kit that takes it all the way across the engine bay like... as for the noise, i aint heard the difference in the old shape, but in the new ones it sounds beefy and i love it <3 hope it helps!!! just have a look on sites such as pumaspeed (which i linked below) Pumaspeed site
Dorfer
Thanks for that :) Ive been searching the net for some info on if its worth to do on a TDCI but I did find a link on YouTube... Thats with a panel filter... Not sure if a cone filter will add or take away the slight roar you get from it.
