james132
Tried it out, impressive light from the outside like I said but still not great for reversing in the dark with the privacy glass, its great looking out of the passenger mirror, however cant see much in the drivers mirror as per. Idealy you need a reverse light either side of the car to give an even spread of light.

Idealy you need a reverse light either side of the car to give an even spread of light. I have saw this done before, if you purchase a reverse unit for a left hand drive model of focus, swap the red unit for the clear one, then splice in to the reverse cable and run a new line to the fog side, the new unit will come supplied with a bulb socket so you will have 2 of those and put one on the end of the new reverse light then take your old fog light unit and cut the fitment part off, drill a hole on the side of your new unit and glue this section on to it, once dry fit your reverse bulb in the original solt as it will work better facing directly out the rear of the car and then fit your standard P21w Red Bulb in the side one. Job Done http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/cool.gif just need to purchase a lhd reverse light For the Mk1 and Mk1.5 Click Here For the Mk2 and Mk2.5 Click Here
james132
Lenny, that was exactly what I was thinking of doing and was going to post a thread up in due time asking advice! Iv been looking at the LH drive light for a while, just as a cosmetic mod to even out the look of the back of the car. Hmm..... Anyone done this? Might give it a go ;)

H3lly
I've attached a 'how to' guide that I nicked from another ford forum. I had planned doing this myself but never got around to it. I need to source the parts needed. Hope this helps. Twin reverse lights.pdf
TDCiST
I did the conversion on my old focus... its easy!! Also, the mk2.5 looks harder as there is less space on the back of the lamp housing... i think youd need to cut the lampholder at an angle... I'm looking into this as we speak as i want to do this to my new focus, and will do a guide for everyone once ive found a method that works! I was helped along for this by my other half... who decided to reverse my new car id had 10 days into a pillar lol!! only damage... the fog light! what a shame, i just had to order the LHD reverse light ;) lol I dont know why ford didnt do this from standard anyway!! it makes much more sense! jeebowhite
Twin reverse lights make all the difference, my Cee'd has them and it makes life so much easier, and much brighter. plus the pro of having the reverse lights a little higher up the middle of the car, means I get a good shine, If I could change anything about the focus, it would be the reverse light position! s.jsutton
Hi Lenny Will these bulbs fit a 2002 Mondeo? Have the same problem as the chap who first posted. Can't see a thing behind me in a dark street
alkyz89
i think they fit most cars?? they have the same fitting as a standard brake/indicater bulb?? best bet would be to find them on eBay and email they supplier??
Stoney871
Pull your existing bulb out and if it looks like these pictures then all is good - (side pins should be directly opposite each other)
Lenny
Hi Lenny Will these bulbs fit a 2002 Mondeo? Have the same problem as the chap who first posted. Can't see a thing behind me in a dark street Hi mate, sorry for the delayed response the cree bulb for the focus is a replacment for a P21w Bulb also known as BA15s or 382 so if the mondeo is the same fitment then this is the bulb for you, however if your reverse bulb is different such as a T20 fitment, then cree reverse bulbs are also available in other fitment types by searching on eBay, so when you find the reverse bulb fitment in your mondeo, enter it in to eBay and put the word ''Cree'' after the fitment and click search, hope this helps. and thanks to others who have helped you also. s.jsutton
HI all. Update. No joy I'm afraid. - Mondeo mk3 reverse light bulb is a small halogen bulb much smaller than the standard break/indicator. It is a "H21w" r435. You can get a xenon replacement but I want more light not blue colour, can't seem to find anything made by cree or anything with the performance of the bulbs Lenny has mentioned for the Focus. Anyway back to the drawing board. Regards Simon
