Sophiechappy
For the past few months my Ka has had its engine warning light on constantly. First i took it to a local garage and they told me it was due to faulty brakes, which have now been repaired 3 times in 2 months. The problem persisted so i took it to a ford garage. They told me that it was the spark plugs/leads and possibly the catalytic converter. They reset the light and fitted new plugs/leads. For a few weeks it was fine, but then the light came on permanently again. I then took it back to a local garage to be told that the head gasket had blown completely. I left it with the garage, they put it through a full MOT and service, which it passed with flying colours. I've had the car back for a day, took it for a drive up the Motor-way and the engine light is back on again. Can anyone suggest what the problem may be?? If you can get hold of a code reader and find out what the codes are would be helpful, it sounds the the garages are messing about. Is the car driving ok? is there any juddering or misfiring? Sophiechappy
I've tried to find somewhere with a code reader other than my local garages, but im not having much success, and i really dont want to take the car back to them. It was driving okay to begin with, but then it decided to break down saying that there was no oil in the engine, when in fact there was plenty of oil in the engine. After that the battery light began flashing constantly, and the car became juddery when driving. Since then its been a real struggle to start the car, and i've lost count of the amount of times its misfired.
