jonro99
Hi. Just picked up our 2011 Focus Titanium, very impressed. We have the built inn SatNav (not touchscreen) and the Comms pack. I am going to use an SD card for music but not sure what the best way to put the tracks across so they play well. I read they need to be MP3 or .M3U for playlists. i havent made playlists before but everywhere i have looked it says you create a text file and then write down each file name/extension wit .M3U at the end when you save it. Is this how the ford system 'likes' it? If anyone has any advice it would be great. Thank you in advance Jon
tomo2001
Don't know if this will help you but page 249 in the handbook gives pointers when using MP3 playback on CD - perhaps its the same structure ?
reesmew
I have the built in sat nav with sd card without touchscreen on the mk2.5. AFAIK the sd card is for the navigation maps only. However I haven't tried copying music onto it for fear of damaging the map data. The original sd card must be encrypted because you can't directly copy the data onto another sd card and use the backup one. I am therefore afraid to corrupt any data on the original sd card. tomo2001
Ok quick test, just tried it and it does not work. Removed Nav SD got blank SD card and copied two albums (folders with mp3's in) from blackberry to SD card. Put SD card in car and unit says Nav SD Card Error. There is no other option to select the SD card as under the AUX button you only have bluetooth or ipod options. Easy way buy an ipod !!
