Ka Power Steering Leaks

After just 45000 miles from new,noticed a huge puddle appearing under rear of engine bay.Upon checking at local garage told that I need to source a new steering rack for my 2003 Ka rhd Duratec 8v 1.3efi with power steering.(track rod end gone as well).The local Ford garage want over 400 plus vat.Can anyone put us in touch with a genuine Ford part for less.The Ford part number is 1469242,thanks,Brommers.

there are a number of places that will do a reconditioned unit for alot less money, they will ask for your old one back though. ive never had any issues with recon parts, the warranty is usually ok too.

400!? Ouch, that's a lot of money! Like Stef said there's places online that will do you a reconditioned unit for less money, and usually the warranty is good for 12 months at least - you just have to send your old one back because the refurbish this with new seals etc and send it out to someone else, so they have a good source of PAS pumps and racks etc.

I've done a search on eBay and found this one.

Also this one.

Please bear in mind those are just examples to show they are out there for a lot less than 400!
