hans moleman
Hi folks, i recently bought a 2001 ford focus lx 1.4 from a second hand car dealer and i think i was sold a bad deal. After a week of driving the oil warning light blinked but did not stay on while i was driving. I pulled up and found the oil level to be at the very end of the dip stick. I then topped up oil and after about another 150 miles i decided to check the oil level. Again the level has dropped the full length of the level gauge on the stick. Its obviously burning oil and im sure its a major problem but im unsure weather this is whats causing the engine management light to come on. I also noticed the power steering fluid to be below the min level, would this cause the engine light to come on? I checked all these levels while buying the car and all are normal, took the car at a lower price without warranty as i thought it was running fine. Not living in the uk but would like to know of ppl in similar situations as same rules might apply. Hope someone can help and i appreciate any time taken to reply Ross
