Hi their,
ive recently bought a 1.4 mk4 escort, on a 96 plate that has only covered 35k genuine miles. even has the origional weel and tyre as a spare.

Now then, i wish to add cbr600 carbs onto it, i know that i will need to make my own inlet manifold but what actually will needed to be done?
if you could keep it as simple as possible please that would be appreciated.
also, what other modifications could be done to the car without having to touch internals?
as for the outside of the car, it will be lowered 20mm, change the black bumpers to match the rest of the car, grey.. spotlights, mudflaps, exhaust system and alloys (un decided)
any help would be greatly appreciated,

thanks.

Hi and welcome.

You say a Mk4 on a 96 plate?

Surely you mean either a Mk6 on a 96 or Mk4 on a 86.

I wouldnt bother carbing the 1.4

Drop a zetec in there and then do that

if its a 96 itll already have a zetec so just put a bigger zetec in then if you really wanted put carbs on it thats what most people would do

Not entirely true.
Some Mk6's still had the CVH engines.
