Water In Driver's Side Footwell

Featured Replies

Hi there. Newbie posting :) I've had my Ford Ranger Thunder ('56 plate, new shape) for 3 1/2 years and love it to bits. Extremely reliable and a pleasure to drive. However, got a bit of a problem - water in the driver's footwell. There are no signs of it coming in through the windscreen or door seal so I can only think it's getting in through the bulkhead???? It's going in for a service next Tuesday ( local garage, not a Ford dealer) and if anyone has had a similar problem it would be handy to be able to point them in the right direction. Many thanks for any suggestions as to where all the water is coming from (apart from the sky that is :D )

Very Welcome to the forum

it could be getting in through the pollen filter housing, which is at the rear or above the glove box,

they may change the filter as part of the service,

if you get a moment join photobucketand upload some picture's of your motor,

you can then link them to this forum,

once uploaded go to Album,

below or above each picture on photobucket is an Image URL

copy this URL and paste it in to your posts

once pasted in the post remove the

.img from either side of the link then its job done,

It's recommended that when a pollen filter is changed that the scuttle seal is also changed at the same time.

Common problem on Mk1 Focus too.

the problem on the mk1 isnt the seal its the plastic panel 'riveted' to the underside of the scuttle panel.

I think your on the money with the pollen filter/scuttle though

I stand corrected.

:P

Was going by information i was given by a colleague who is involved in solely maintaining our work vehicles which are primarily Focus.
