Danny87
Hi all, What's your opinions on mudflaps? The reason I'm asking is because I've been toying it over for so long, and I've found a genuine Ford set (four corners) on eBay nice and cheap! I've also just discovered a chip and scratch in the paint on the drivers door - I knew I heard what sounded like a stone chip last night but with it being dark I wasn't able to see until daylight. Looks like more than s stone chip though, probably a rock or something. I have a 5 door Fiesta, I noticed there's some little holes drilled into the sills/inside the arches I'm presuming this is where they would mount to? Also, if anyone can show me a picture if they have them fitted to their car - I just want to see what they would look like before I buy some! Hope someone can help :) Dan
rojariggs
I was just thinking the same for my car! Most modern cars they are an easy fit with the holes already drilled or they fit using the screws that hold the wheel arch liners in place. Maybe I'll have a look on eBay this evening... Danny87
Hi Rog, Thanks for the reply mate, I've ordered some up so they should be here soon enough and I'll get them fitted. The problem is I live in Devon (Paignton) and I do a lot of driving in lanes with big puddles. Even in the summer it's a really hard keeping the car clean, as I wash and polish it and then I end up with mud all up the side of the car. Or worse, like a lovely chip with a 6+inch scrape from bloomin' rocks! :( Cheers and happy new year! Dan

Stoney871
I know the roads around the Torbay area well (i travel them regulary) and they are crap. In your case i'd definitely say yes to flaps. They're narrow because tight farmers won't move their hedgerows in 2 feet.
Danny87
Where about are you Devon mate? You're right the roads around here are terrible, in my road in particular there's still potholes which were left from the winter of 2010, the council have got as far as spraying the white paint around 'em, but haven't actually fixed them! The Newton Abbot Road linking Torquay to Pennin Roundabout are gridlocked and must be avoided at certain times of the day/week/month etc lol. I must admit I rather hate the roads in this area, I drive in somewhere like Burnham-on-Sea (where some family live) and I'm shocked at how good the roads are kepts and people in general on the roads that way seem more polite and don't tailgate etc. Dan
Stoney871
I'm a Plymouth boy. Tell you one thing too, i think the city council has gone mad with the roads here. As a response dog handler i need to get to places in a hurry and there is not one straight road left without speed bumps, chicanes or cameras. I think they're messing about with the junctions and speed limits just to personally pee me off. My sergeant gets fed up with the amount of speed camera tickets that come over his desk. Yes we still get tickets too but if we're on an authorised blue light run then it's not a problem (mostly) You get caught when not on a call then you pay the same as anyone else.
