Hi,

I'm new here I recently purchased a 58reg 1.4Tdci for my wife and overall i'm really pleased with it and my wife loves it,but the starter has gone and it's just out of warranty has anyone replaced one of these and do they give bother as i'm considering getting one from a car breaker. Cheers.

I can't say I've heard anyone on here having trouble with the starter motor on such a new fiesta.. so i don't think its a common fault atleast.

I would go with one from a breakers yard or reconditioned.

One thing to check on the starter. Make sure it isn't clogged up with iron filings. If it is it means your dual-mass flywheel (yes even these little vehicles have them now) is knackered. Large bills will follow.
