hi windscreen wipers coming on on their own then droning sound and really slow then they dont work. knocked off engine left it 1 hour then they were fine. today same thing happened only my headlights went out and when i put wiper arm up headlights came back on. are they on 1 switch or do u think its electrics? its a focus tdci ghia 2003. Please Help!!

Hi,

you can expect your indicators to flash too or stay on constantly (not flashing)

this is caused by water in your engine bay fuse box,

the little box beside the battery holds all of your relays, and when it gets wet inside it bridges all the connections making them run by themselves,

so either the lid is cracked and letting water in or the lid has fallen off, check it ou anyway luv,

maybe blow with a hairdryer to assist the evapouration of the moisture, not too hot though :D

thankfully hasent happend to me mate, but i read it on here some time ago and saw it happen once to a focus that was stuck in a flood on the 6 o'clock news :D

water up to the wing mirrors and theirs the indicators on solid amber and the wipers flying.
