Sara Fiesta
Anyone else think this is set too low as mine seems to want me to change gear at under 2000rpm and then the engine struggles?
artscot79
i noticed this as well that it went green at far too low a revs and that was on the petrol, its meant to improve fuel economy but if im honest i just started ignoring it and changed when it felt right
NorthSussex
I borrowed a KA the other day and as soon as you gave it a bit of welly the change up light came on, very annoying. Luckily my Focus doesn’t have that pesky feature.
Sara Fiesta
It's strange how it operates I find if I accelerate lightly it will indicate to change gear at just under 2000 rpm but it will not indicate to change gear if I accelerate harder? rojariggs
It's strange how it operates I find if I accelerate lightly it will indicate to change gear at just under 2000 rpm but it will not indicate to change gear if I accelerate harder? That is by design. It assumes you are accelerating hard for a reason (overtaking, joining a motorway, etc) and realises that you need to rev to do this so there's no point in the light being on. It will also turn the light off if you accelerate gently past where the light comes on but do not change gear. Again it assumes you must be holding onto the gear for a reason. I don't even notice it on my car anymore.

jeebowhite
They are good little features when they work well, but damned irritating other times. I am glad to see that they gave a decent amount of thought to the design though, light doesnt come on, or goes off if you ignore it is a logical and well thought thing to do! well done that engineer!
