Hi, How do I get the stereo out of my Mondeo? I had to change the battery recently so need the serial no. off the back so I can get a code generated. The model I have is like this:



I can't see any slots for keys or holes for other removing tools. I'd really appreciate any help.

Hi mate,
Slots above and below top / bottom buttons as shown.

You need 4 keys like this - eBay sells them cheap, they slot in with the flat part of the handle facing ourwards.
You'll know when they are located correctly by feel.
Once the keys are located, pull them slightly to the sides to dislocate the clips and the radio will pull directly forward.
The keys can only be removed once the radio is fully forward as you need to push in on the clip springs to disengage the notches.

You're better off getting ones that cost more than £3 as the cheaper ones bend too easily and seem to bind up for some reason.

Stoney - thanks a million. It worked and I got the serial no. Downloaded an Iphone app for 69p and got the radio code in seconds.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.
I put up a post about that app a little while ago and thought someone would find that app worthwhile.
69p for an M code generator is far better than some eBay sellers are asking.

I'm expecting some tomorow and didn't know that.

Update.
Went fine.
Would have been lost without the tip.

i got some very cheap prongs of ebay 1.98 all in did the job . the 2 on the right seem to lean to the wright , the one in bottom left leaned to middle the one that slides in where it says cd you need to apply gentle force the pin pushes a metal spring back it makes a s slight noise and resistance then it clicks when its in far enough . pull the 3 other prong lever them back to they are all the same possition as the one in top left and a gentle pull out the unit . when you put the unit back i found if you take the 2 pins out on the left hand side out . and insert the unit push the 2 right hand pins to the right and pins come away with a little wiggle . i am a novice but did ours today. allen
