My daughter has just been given a 2004 1.6 manual 35k miles and a lovely car with full history, drives really well but yesterday we noticed in traffic as she pulled off in first gear and got to the biting point there was a 'straining' type noise, not every single time but most. More a nuisance than anything,, is this a known fault? Sounds like clutch plate or thrust bearing, just wondered if anyone else has had similar, thanks in advance
