poshpawsfiesta Posted March 8, 2012 Share Posted March 8, 2012 You should try a Zetec S, More grip but a bit less comfortable at the same time, you can make a titanium look like a Zetec S if you wanted the aesthetics without sacrificing comfort, and you get more tech. 1.6 Petrol and 1.6 Diesel (not econetic version with Zetec S models) Both engines are good for what they are. If you could wait around for the 2012 facelift (maybe 2013 now) we should be seeing some ecoboost engines for the fiesta (smaller turbocharged petrol engines) http://www.carpages....iesta-guide.asp Spec for all the models my car finance ends on july 2013 where if everything goes to plan will be putting in an order for a ecobooost fiesta :) thats if were still alive lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've got the carbon style one anyway as used in the MG varients. :) Here's my 25. Who ever said the K-series is unreliable? Mines the 1.6 version and has done over 173,000 miles now and it's still battling on! And this was my previous 200. It was just the ignition on. ;) I just finished fixing the washers on my mums Mondeo. Never had a problem with my 25 in all the time I've owned it, only replaced the radiator as the top layer of fins had corroded, not bad for an 11 year old car with that many miles on the clock. ;) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Granted MG Rover went bust a couple of months after she purchased it but the whole losing the value part doesn't help at all. I'd rather go for an already registered one with around 10,000 miles or less on the clock. I assume it must be possible to get a Titanium with a Zetec S kit on in 1.4 petrol form? They look so comfy in the brochure. to be fair, the 1995 VW Polo 1.4 16v engine produced 100BHP but yeh the K-series was overall a powerful unit per CC That is fair completely, but Rover were certainly pushing for the best, considering the K-series first appeared in 1988 it did pretty well, just became out dated towards the end of Rover and with the HG issues it certainly did MG Rover no help. They tend to be high end torque so they've got to revved to get the best use out of them. :( My cousin has a 2002 '52 Rover 25 TD, it's a 2.0 Rover L-series but it's been tuned to 160bhp and some rediculous amount of torque, I think something like 365 Nm. Well I just got renewal quotes for a 1.6 Fiesta Titanium with Zetec S kit, came back at £760 fully comp (£900 TPF&T?) whilst my 25 comes back at £890.
