FiestaZpower
Wow just insured my car for another year and it looks Like I will have to cancel because 'ford insure ' dont like any performance enhancing noise also it's really RSA insurance and they know nothing about fords . I had to wait 4 days for my 'no' from the technical advise team ... Boo hoo any one got mods and decent full comp insurance ? Please help :-)
Emme
I had a k&n induction on a mark 4 escort cab. This was about 7 years ago. I went with the post office. They were ok but it was a while ago. The escort was modded to hell so insurance was a bit of a pain but got there in the end. Em xxxxx
dLockers
Not worth it anyway tbh. I wouldnt cancel the insurance unless its not renewed yet as it will impact your ability to get cover later on.
FiestaZpower
It's all very confusing as I can get insured on say an RS focus but not my fiesta with induction kit. I see what u mean with not changing... Surley another 35 horses are worth me laughing ford insure of as it's far from the 5* service they discribe and ford were banging on about the performance upgrades when I got my car but failed to tell me the insurance :-/ ... I must get a quote for a fiesta st standard and a mk7 mountune 155 cos I'm guessing it's double the price for the extra 5 horses? .. Thanks people :-)

b1g_dav3
Try Adrian Flux, you wouldn't believe the quote I have on my Mini if I told you.
lodav2011
35BHP FROM AN INDUCTION KIT :S MORE LIKE 5 TO 7 IF YOUR LUCKY
btmaldon
A lot of insurance companies are damanding more money for mods. Even Direct Line wanted another £70 a year for Tinting the rear windows. If your under 25, most insurers wont touch you if your car has had any mods at all.

Not if you have one of those beasts, 7 - 10bhp. And to think, only £5 off fleabay, a bargain!... oh wait... Insurance is a joke now >_>
lodav2011
That is the funniest thing i have seen all night lol, theres no way that bit of eBay crap is going to give you 7 to 10bhp, even if it need i dont know where u done maths say it gives you 10bhp and 2bhp from the k&n well thats 12bhp not 35 lol, why spend all that money on a nice car then stick that crap in there. Mark M.K
Admiral are very easy going on most mods, one of the few who allow you to add stuff when you are under 25.

b1g_dav3
LOL I'd love someone to ask me to fit one of those, I lol all the way to a £200 bill If ever I get an Aston Martin, I may ask for fitting of this beast which claims 40 - 60bhp! http://www.superchar...Martin/Vantage/ This quote from their site just made my day; The GTE electric supercharger is not your average boat blower or fan you may have seen others sell. It uses high grade, high speed motor structures designed and tested in Germany and Japan for the ultimate air pressure. The motor spins to over 20,000 rpm within a few milliseconds. All necessary parts are included to install on any air intake setup. Our kits are designed to efficiently and safely for air into your engine. The supercharger activates only when your floor the vehicle. The reason is the charger is designed to operate for no longer than 1 minute continuously because of its high velocity. This is not a problem, because if you ran your vehicle for 1 minute floored, you would be running over 200MPH.

FiestaZpower
the mountune cat back exhaust is the only mod that I could do with ford insure so im parting ways with them at the end of this month- decided to go for the AEM cold air induction kit...sooo nice!! :-) going to take the car to mountune to have it 155'd next month... Very exited ..thanks for all your answers - fords forever! :0)
b1g_dav3
Best to use either Greenlight or Adrian Flux then really, the first being recommended by Mountune themselves. Just got my Mini renewal from Adrian Flux and it's gone up by £3, I'm happy at £469 fully comp seeing it's supercharged :P
