Hi everyone.

I've recently bought a 2009 Ford Focus Zetec 1.6, and it's due for a three year service and first MOT soon.

I'm in South East London (Blackheath, near Lewisham), and have no idea of where to find an honest, reliable mechanic/garage to have the work done.

Dagenham Ford at Eltham have quoted £270 for the service, so I'd rather go elsewhere, but after hearing so many stories of "cowboy" garages, would feel more comfortable getting some personal recommendations from fellow Focus owners.

If anyone can recommend somewhere, I'd be most grateful.

Can anyone help please?

Surely someone with a garrage recommendation they wouldn't mind sharing - although searching online hasn't helped much either. Plenty of places where people advise not going, but none where people recommend.

i have used them once. the were good. the price they quote is the same as that as the dealership.

Thanks for the recommendation. For the benefit of anyone else who's looking for a good garage/mechanic in South East London, I ended up using Big M Car Servicing in Welling. http://www.bigmcarservicing.co.uk/ . They were half the price of the Ford main dealer, and didn't make up any faults or hidden extras, which was my main concern about picking a random independent garage.
