well my mates mk2 focus has had a leak for weeks despite ford having it for a week the source wasnt found.

the drivers side footwell and pass side kept getting wet so i spent today armed with water with food dye added in the search and found it was from the most unlikely source, i know what most would say the bulkhead or window even the aircon drain but alass no this is the culpritthe panel next to the mirror post-8800-0-40776800-1332873339_thumb.jp

this small panel pops off very easily.... just 3 push clips and 3 holes behind... however no seals, apart from the rubber edge on 2 sides of the panel to which one of my mates was a bit distorted only quarter of an inch from the heat of the sun and steadily the water was passing the seal and heading inside in the hole and into the car. clear silicone was put round all 3 holes both sides and on the edges of the clips just to be sure and popped into place 4 hours later the test was done no water so he took it to the jetwash and again no water just to be safe i did mine when i got home might be worth everyone doing this to eliminate the chance.

the stealers had there chance and couldnt find it lol it was a pain to find removing carpets and stuff but the dark green water trail showed where the water had hit the top of the clip then ran inside why do theu insist on doing stupid stuff a rubber seal round the clip could have been easily done

Arthur, well done for sortin it out and letting others know of this issue. My Leon had similar door leaks which would cost over £100 at dealership but a butyl cord for £10 and an hour to re-seal 4 doors did the job! I will certainly look into sealing up the trim on my car.
