Hi All

This is my first topic on the forum, would be open to any advice :)

I Have recently purchased a set of Bi Xenon Headlights, which I hope will replace my halogen headlights.

I currently have the OEM Bi Xenon Headlights without any bulbs, but with (I think) all the wires, as shown below:

There are some parts that I will need to complete the project:

• Osram D1s Xenaelectron Ballast
  

• Osram D1s Xenarc Bulbs
  

Any advice on locating the parts will be welcome

I plan on using the elm327 cable and Ff2 Program, as shown in Preee's guide, to activate the headlights and washers if possible.

This project will probably encorperate retrofit of the headlight washers too. :D

were your origonal headlights the black type or the silver type, because im looking to purchase a set of the black type headlights for my mk2.5

My original headlights are the black ones, I maybe willing to sell them on, but not until I've got this project finished. I'm still considering keeping them afterwards in case I need to refit them at any time.

Thanks for the link, but I'm trying to find the original rounded square shape ones, as I believe (after some research) they will be 'plug and play'.

to be honest if i was you id keep them as a spare set too,

Okay so I have some more pics of the wiring on my car and also the fuse box.

Could do with some help from someone with a little more knowledge on electrical systems.

• Does anyone know if the wiring in the pictures will allow for 'plug and play' connection??
  
• I guess I need new relays for the headlights, any idea which ones I will need??
  

maybe ask the seller of the units,

if he still has the focus he removed them from, and if he has could he take a picture of the engine fuse box for you,

then compare the fuses to yours to see what matches up and what is different mate,

may be worth a try.

Haz, you may wanna visit a scrapyard that maybe has a focus with th lights or go to a meet and see with other focus owners have on there cars.

Hi there guys I have a mk2.5 focus

I just bought a pair of xenons off a 2010 st exact fit (has da ballast n bulb fitted)

Plugged it on everything works but the xenon lol

Been to a few electricians (car audio security places) and they ain't got a clue lol

I have da old wiring loom cut off from the st

It has 3 extra wires than mine on it

They Want to know what they are b4 starting work on it as they r scared if anything happens

As da lights r really expensive Lol

Basically I need help gettin this to work

please some 1 lol

Any chance you could post some pics of the wiring you have already and what you plan to add on?

Julz- in order to get the xenons to work you need an extra earth wire in port 8 on the plug on your wiring loom and it will work. I fitted them to mine and had to do this little mod to get them lighting.

Not sure if everyones is the same but my connector has all 10 ports already wired up. Have not tried the lights yet as I have no bulbs or ballast

Then will try this. Does it not need any fuses or relays to work then? Just the extra earth wire?

It should work, it did for me. You can either tap into the earth wire on the loom which i think is the brown wire or do what i did and just earth it off the bodywork, which leaves it easy if you ever decide to change back and your loom is intact.

The xenons need two earths to work but if you just plug it in as is, all lights will work except the xenons. I've also since fitting fitted 8000k bulbs which looks really good

Okay so not got anywhere with this as I got bored looking. Now found two options I could go with:

Okay so a little :D update on this project

I got it all working !!!

Haha excitement over.

I purchased a set of Osram D3S ballasts with wiring from the american seller in the previous post and some cheap 6000k D3S bulbs. Got it all fitted and wired up using the standard ballast connector inside the headlight and nothing!! Then I realised the D3S ballast as 3 pins. Pos neg and earth. The standard D1S ballast has no earth just pos and neg. However a 3pin connector came with the ballasts so just connected the 3 wires and Success!!!!!!!! If I had not had the ballast and bulb issue the headlights would be plug and play, as no extra wiring was required to the actuall headlight unit connector. As mentioned before my loom already had all 10 pins wired up.
