Installing Rear Speakers 1.4Tdci Zetec

Hey guys,

I know my car has rear speaker grills but no actual Speakers behind them, I removed the rear door cards on both sides and was surprised to find there is absolutely zero wiring for rear Speakers whatsoever. The space is completely empty, and I really wanted to install some rear Speakers... (And yes there is a fader option on my stereo)

Am I going to have to go through the ball ache of running wires all through the car to get to the rear doors, or am I missing something? :(

Thanks in advance (:

I'd be surprised if there isn't wires already there.

If not, it's not too difficult to run wires.

Yea zero wires which I found really surprising too...

And I know most people probably wouldn't difficult, but I'm not 'most people' :P

If you would rather connect up rear Speakers hassle free then trust a local car audio specialist to stick some in.

Costs a few quid but at least you know that it's all done properly.

I'm a big fan of getting things done on the cheap haha ;)

But would I lose the 2 front tweeters if I wired up rear Speakers, or is it possible to configure the default head unit to 6 Speakers?

interesting how you have a fader option, what happens when you fade to rear, does the sound go off completely?

Surprisingly enough I haven't tried that! Although I definitely will next time I go out... at the moment I'm just staying indoors and touching myself

But the thing is, I'm just afraid that if the unit is only designed to run 4 Speakers, then I'd have to sacrifice 2 at the front?

best kept to oneself

but no, the tweeters wont go off if you put back Speakers on, assuming you have the Speakers to fit (you wouldnt put the back Speakers on a tweeter feed anyway, as it wouldnt drive the bigger speakers)

Well I installed some new front Speakers, FLI FI6's on the advice of a guy at Halfords telling me they're the best 'all rounders' they had, and they're f*****g terrible... absolutely no bass whatsoever.

Guess that was a waste of money, they're worse than the stock ones!

Wak Wak Oops.

Don't trust those bozos with a broken stick.

By best all rounder he probably actually meant they were the ones that have been gathering dust on their shelves the longest.

Go to a car audio specialist and be guided by someone who actually knows what a decent car set up should sound like.

I just figured since the stock ones are 25W and these ones are 210W, I couldn't really go wrong...

Would they even let me give them back?

Pack them up and take them back.

Tell them they don't fit.
