DanHutch
Hi All, I have a 2005 Focus 2.0 petrol 70000 miles. Its engine code came on - P2008 which is the intake manifold. I have a slight loss of acceleration but otherwise runs okay. Its been to a garage who couldn't work out if it was the manifold or actuator. Quoted me 1050 quid to fix! The other nuisance is oil loss. Noticed this over the same period. its not a leak (nothing on floor), so I guess its getting burn't off. This is a significant loss - 2 litres per 500 miles Is it likely that this oil loss is related to the intake manifold? If I spend a grand fixing the intake manifold and then still have oil leak I would cry even more! A possibility occurred to me is that the oil leak could be a result of me still driving around with a faulty manifold - could the pressures have been changed and the rings gone? Any advice much appreciated. I'm naturally disappointed as its been well looked after and only has 70000 miles on it. Cheers Dan
