Wendy j
Hi I don't know if anybody can come up with any ideas why my fiesta 1.6td zetec sport would be smoking from exhaust when started from cold. No problems at all when car is warm. I've had a stainless steel exhaust fitted recently but it was smoking before then. I also had to have the fuel injector seals replaced last year so I'm wondering if they are not working as they should be. It does run lumpy on start up as well. I would be grateful if any body could help. Wendy.

AdamC11
Hi Wendy J, It sounds as though the head gasket could have gone if its blowing blue smoke. Cheers
mintalkin
a blown head gasket would effect the coolant level so check this, if the problem only occures when the car has been left say overnight i would be looking at the valve stem oil seals worn, oil can drip into the clynders overnight giving the symptoms your car has. but without inspection its difficult to say exactley. xxChrisxx
As it's only doing it on start-up from cold. Valve stem seals.
