Hi,

I don’t know a great deal about cars and what components link to what so I have taken pictures of my problem.

There is a pipe of some sort hanging down and appears to be wearing away where it is being held. The pipe being worn is shown below in the first picture.

Firstly, is this pipe important enough to warrant an urgent repair? Or can it just be left alone? Is there anything wrong with this at all?

I don’t want to move it as I am worried that it is brittle and will break completely.

Can someone please advise :)

Looking at where it goes to it could well be your brake line.
It appears to have a pressure fitting on it so that's the direction i'd lean to.
Check the other side of the car, does it have another line going to exactly the same place on that side too?
