I have removed my rear bumper panel today and left it in the body shop to get the Zetec S rear skirt painted and fitted to it,
i had to remove it as i need the car to travel to work so in a bid to continue to be 100% road legal i made up some fog light and reverse light housings,
using some PVC electrical tape, some cable ties and two 2ltr CocaCola bottles.

first i removed the bumper,




then i cut the bottle in half, just below the label,
then cut a hole from the bottom centre of the bottle, just enough to allow the bulb to stick through,
once the bulb was through i held it in position with some electrical PVC tape and also around the side of the bottle to ensure all of the light is expelled only from the rear of the unit.





followed by cutting two slits in the top for the cable tie to pass through and grip to the chassie.

Im now sitting by the letter box,

Those guys could blow up a whole warehouse using a paper clip some tape and a match stick.

Just a quick one, do you have any reflective parts on the rear still? I heard its illegal to not have any as you can't see the parked car at night without these.

I watched a cop program and some stupid kid sprayed his rear lights black to make them look "cool", they looked rubbish.
He was trying to say that he got them from halfords but clearly didn't as the copper saw he did a rubbish DIY job on it. Tto avoid having this fuss, the copper just did him for having a german number plate on a UK registered car and checked up to see if he had replaced his lights. he deserved what he got as he was rude as hell to the copper. I'm sure if he just owned up and was nice about it he'd of gotten away with a warning but he was rude and caused a lot of bother so he got what was coming to him.

my reg plate is reflective and the red edge around the tail lights are refelctive too,

perhaps i should have left the red coca-cola labels on the bottles lol

Dont worry about the cost, as you could print new parts for your car as well, and it would probably be cheaper than buying a bulb from a focus dealer anyway lol

and if I did or should i say if i do get pulled by the cops, can you imagine the report they would need to write or if it went to court lmao, Officer found vehicle driving on public road with coca-cola bottles being used as tail light units, when officer asked the driver to explain the situation the driver responded with ‘’shirr what else was I to do with the bulbs? Leave them hanging? ’’

I’m now thinking I could get two of those miniature pringles tins and paint them black,
Then tape the lids on tight so they would be a completely water proof sealed unit with the added bonus of being shiny silver on the inside to better reflect the light lol
That 3d printer looks great too,
The possibilities with it would be endless,

and they are probably made from the same grade of plastic.
if the listing was free on ebay i would stick them on their for the laugh, put the for auction along with the pictures of them fitted and working
