Hi mate if your fiesta is a 1.6TDCi

then see my guide in the list below on fitting the st pod to the focus dash,

i have fitted a boost gauge to my 1.6TDCi but their is no small pipe to T in to like their is in the 1.8TDCi engine,

instead you need to purchase an adaptor and tap in to the big elbow pipe leading from the turbo.

im running a standard 1.6TDCi and getting 22psi peak boost

right i have done some bits but i have hit a problem. My pipe from my turbo is slightly different. Its not a flat pipe its got lots of ridges and no where to get a flat surface to get a decent air tight fixing.

As seen here:

IMG_20120506_1552501.jpg

Going to see someone tomorrow and see what ideas they can come up with.

But on the plus side i have sorted a place for the gauge to go:

IMG_20120503_171823.jpg

Going to rediret the air away from the back of the gauge, thinking towards my feet.

Nice progress mate,

you could drill the plastic section and fit the roose adaptor i used for mine,

it will seal good as it comes supplied with a rubber seal for that type of fitment,

and for the record mate, ribbed hoses are stronger than the smoothe, they wont collapse under heavy suction.

I did think about drilling the plastic part but then thought about replacing the ribbed part. But maybe I will go back to the plastic. Cheers

How does the boost gauge help you demist your side window, when it's really steamed up?

It won't help cos its a boost gauge. The vent on the side between the door and dash does that job. Tho its never got that steamy in my car.

push

Need to put an adapter on top pipe there coming out of the turbo,

Bare in mind these are variable vain turbo they don't boost like petrol,

Heres a diagram of the flow:

Hi mate,Ive been trying to delay feedback on this one lol i have discovered that the face of the ST pod wont be of useso if you are doing this modification dont use the face of the original st pod mate, the angle is too straight for the gauges to fit inside the pod.so the new plan is to purchase two 52mm single pod holders :http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SINGLE-PEDESTAL-POD-SUITS-ALL-KNOWN-52mm-2-GAUGES-/130553322466?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e65959be2stick then to the dash section of the pod with double sided sticky pads, then fit the hood of the pod over them in place like a roofImage1380.jpg this way the gauges will sit at a better angle and allow more of the 52mm gauges to be visible, then i will need to get a small section of persepcs and cut it to shape to fill the space around the 2 pods,on the up side though,i managed to get the gauges all wired up to the interior lights and the ignition feed.all that is left to do is run a cable from the pod through to the engine for the oil pressure sensor, fit the oil pressure sensor in placeand also run the boost pipe and fit it in place, but that one has a catch too because i have a 1.6tdci i dont have a boost feed that i can tap in to,Induction.png so i need to tap in to the pipe on the intercooler system, so i need to get an elbow hose made up with a 3mm nipple on the side of it so as i can connect the boost pipe, like the one in the picture below. bespokehose1small.jpgits come a long way, and another bit to go before its complete lolThe main thing holding me up at the moment is funds, so the project is on hold until next month,The shopping list is:3metre of 6amp cable to run a sensor feed to the oil gauge,Two 52mm single pod gauge holders, oil pressure sensor T piece adaptorCustom built elbow hose with 3mm nipple fitted. So looking at another £100-£120 to complete mate. ive updated the guide with pictures of how it looks at the momment, ill add some text to it later today.

For some reason images are not displaying for me rite now,

However if you have a metal pipe,

I would find some small 2mm metal pipe,

Drill hole in car pipe,

Weld on 2mm pipe

Then slide boost hose on to this,

Cheapest way and guranteed no leaks,

IMG_20141019_182044_zpsdnwapzob.jpg

eBay perhaps supply pipe,

Remove part yourself and bring to local exhaust repair shop to weld it for you,

If i was doing again thats what i would do.

The adapter i used cost me around 50 euro from Roose motorsport

Ah yes i can see now :)

If you could fit a barbed nipple to the bottom left side of the elbow,

This would be best location away from direct head and obstruction

I will edit a picture now to show you where i mean.

Ive linked an example of barbed nipple in post above.

No problem mate,

I was once in your shoes searching for the correct pipe with very little information online,

Another modification is:

At night these gauges can be blinding bright and uncomfortable,

To combat this issue i fitted an auto dimmer relay designed for DRL's

Now when i switch on lights, the gauge light dims,

See my guide for this here:

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/31832-guide-fitting-auto-dimmer-unit-from-gen-labs-to-gauges-or-drl/

Glad to be of assistance,

More advice blank the egr valve if you haven't already done,

Also get your dpf chamber cut open on the factory weld.

Scoop out dpf,

Weld back up to appear stock,

Refit to car and remap,

Perhaps 2.5" exhaust from flexi pipe to tip.

Will be one fast little fiesta with over 68mpg

To blank the egr Valve is forbitten in Germany.

But since three month, my Fiesta has 120ps .

My Gauge are from PLX Device.

The first Gauge are a DM200 OBD Multigauge.

The second one (comes in the next few month) will be a PLX DM-5 Boost.
