Jenni Lynn
I've seen lots of people refering to Mk6, 7 and 8 but have no idea how you know which your car is? I have a 61 plate Fiesta - does anyone know what Mk it is?
iNath
The numbering is messed up. Most on here will refer to yours as a MK7. A lot of eBay items will say MK8 (because they call the MK6.5 the MK7!) Probably just easier to go by the year if you ever order any parts ;)

'51 plate is most likely to be a Mk6. If you post a picture we can confirm that. Can also confirm the which alloys are fitted.
Eric Bloodaxe
Of just have a look at Wiki - as good as summary as any with illustrations. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Fiesta Auto Express have a guide too which also mentions the confusion caused by the Mk 4 facelift being referred to as a Mk 5 in the UK, putting back it of step ever since: https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/ford/fiesta/98087/complete-ford-fiesta-review-every-generation-tested I would think a 51 plate is possibly a late Mk 5 (UK terminology - Mk 4 facelift elsewhere) but a pic would help us confirm as Tom suggests.

Very hard to tell from that pic though!😃 Hard to see how that's meant to be a complete mark change. I'd call all the 'bubble shape' MK4, and all the square shape Mk6. Don't think I've called any a Mk5!
alexp999
At least we can all agree the 2017 onwards is the Mk. Last 😞

I agree, I never understood why it wasn't just the Mk 4.5 as has happened with the Mk 6/6.5, Mk 7/7.5, and now Mk 8/8.5.

Since Ford have got the deal to share the MEB platform with VW, they could conceivably get the use of the smaller "MEB entry" platform which VW intend to use for a Polo size EV. So a Ford version is not impossible, though it seems pretty unlikely at present. I've seen the odd intriguing comment recently though from both VW and Ford that there are no current plans to do more MEB based Ford EVs beyond those already in the pipeline but that doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility if a business case can be made in future. Unlikely to be a Fiesta in any event. The way they're recycling old names at present (e.g. Puma from small coupe to SUV, and apparently Capri to yet another (yawn) SUV), they'd probably call a Fiesta replacement a Zodiac. unofix
2007 is known as a Mk6.5 in the UK. The seat handles for the Mk6 or Mk 6.5 are the same.
