This was a fill up at Shell (just over half a tank), left the forecourt doing about 4 miles of urban driving on the tail end of rush hour to the M3 motorway, and then up the A31 and then back again at 2am in the morning. Up hill most of the way there, down hill on the way back, took advantage where possible and left it in gear but took my foot off the accelerator. Drove at 55/60 on most of roads (adhering to local speed restrictions of course!)

There was me, and a couple of bits of DJ equipment in the boot.

Even now after 350 miles of driving, doing quite a bit of urban driving vs motorway (and going a bit faster 70/80 on the motorway) and have been using the aircon the alst couple of evenings, It's still on 52.4mpg with 50 mile range left on the fuel.

Ford Focus TDCi 1.6 109ps.

unfortunately its usually true sara focus [fiesta indeed] lol and it depends on the route unless you drive identical routes no one will get the same mpg as another on my way to work im sitting at up to 50mpg on a petrol yet the return is all hills and i will always drop to 36-38mpg yet a workmate with the same car cant get more than 30mpg ive been behind him and he brakes too late doesnt plan ahead and sits in the wrong gears so dont feel bad :P

Hi, yes it's 4000 miles.

I'm getting 49 mpg but I've done over 5500 miles I was getting 45ish in the early days, it's just starting to improve, I don't expect 50+ until over 10k miles. If your not happy return to Ford they can recalibrate the fuel system but I'd wait till you reach 10k and see if it improves.

Regards,
Jack.
