Focus 1.6 Tdci (Dpf) Oil

Hi,

Just had my 1.6 TDCi Focus (with DPF) serviced and looking at the invoice they put the following oil in:

"Form F 5W30 oil (F)"

I've done quite a bit of Googling but can't find a definitive answer - is this the correct oil for my car, especially considering it has the DPF?

I'm sure that's what I used to top up my 09 tdci dpf, I'm sure thats what it said in the manual :)

Hi guys,

I've been having problems with dpf blocking since having service done ( oil and filter)in space of a month it blocked twice and all mileage was long distance.

I keep reading that low saps or low ash oil is required in these cars but whenever I search for oil the oil that shows compatible with the 1.6tdci is not a low ash oil.

I keep wondering whether the reason the car is blocking is due to the oil the garage used.

Can people let me know which oil they use and if it's low saps etc? Someone did mention Mobil one 3000 and they said its low saps but when I checked it doesn't have code C1,C2 or C3 ( low ash oils)

Please someone help???

I use 5W30 Fully Synthetic oil and always a good brand like Mobil 1 etc or Fords variant. Been told that some of the particles in Part-Synthetic (can't remember the exact name) don't burn off through the burn cycle in the DPF and cause it to clog and block up buggering the whole system (NEW DPF time). In my opinion with these things, it's not worth going for a cheap oil or a Part-Synthetic, spend the bit extra and save the money in the long run when you don't have to have the DPF replaced.

Thanks for the reply but is it just a normal fully synthetic oil? Not low ash as I cannot see any low ash ones designed for ford?

The recommended grade for the full Ford range is magnatec 5w30 fully synthetic.

Ok so even though car has dpf fitted and keeps blocking there is no low ash oil for ford?

So if I buy either magnatec or the Mobil one 3000, is that ok. I'm jjust so confused as everywhere including aa says use a low ash oil with a dpf, will there magnatec oil be ok for dpf?

Since my original post on this, my car's done 6000 miles without a single issue, so the oil that they put in mine, "Form F 5W30 oil (F)", can't be that bad! I tried to look into the low SAPS/ash oil but never got anything definitive, so just trusted my local Ford dealer!

I'm always using Formula F 5W-30. Once I made a mistake and used Mobil Super 3000FE 5W-30 X1, but not any more. No other engine oil can match Formula F.....see pdf attached.....

Considering this thread is 7 years old I'm pretty sure lors is a bot working for Mobil...  

I've used both Formula F & Mobil in my Mk2.5 DV6 without issue, would like to know what you think is so bad about the Mobil Ned, but I can't read Russian either!

Checked by russian GOST standard, all are equivalent to ASTM, check via google....

Hi. I'm interested in this and could do with your advise. 

I have been using Mobil Super™ 3000 X1 Formula FE 5W-30 full synthetic motor oil as per Mobil oil checker site but i find the engine is tappety. Will the Formula F 5w-30 work better in my daughter's Ford Fiesta MK6.5 1.6 tdci or should i stick to what the site recomends.

I'm after a good low ash oil but cheekly one that could reduce engine noise also. I change it twice yearly regardless of mileage. Its done about 114k miles so far with no issues on turbo.
