Any Body Know Best Way To Paint Calipers. Thanks

I have the paint and had my alloys off to have a look. Im unsure tho what next to do. the clip when alloy is off do i need to move that or can i paint this. Need to know urgently really as my alloys are loose for me to start work on them early in morn.

Pretty basic stuff really, for the best result you will need to remove them from where they live, and in my opinion its best to use a brush on caliper paint, use a wire brush and plenty of de-greaser type cleaner to remove the years of crud. The retaining clip may be better just rubbed down and sprayed with an aerosol. As with all paint work, PREPERATION is key, the cleaner they are b4 you start, the better they will look when they are done :)

Ive got paint not spray so good there. also bought wire brushes to get rid of the crud. How would i move them tho sorry. And the retainin clip is that the main clip you see as soon as alloy moved? Thanks again

Yes, its the main clip that runs from top to bottom of the caliper, it is only held in by the tension in itself, so just pry it out of the two holes it sits in. The caliper itself is held in place by two 7mm (i think) allen key bolts to the rear, they are covered by dust protectors (little plastic caps) just knock these out to gain access to the bolts. I suppose you could just paint them without removing them, but im a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to stuff ike this, and always think spending more time gettings ready is worth it in the long run. yea mate im ocd myself with things like this so will try to take them out. I was going to try and pull the clips out but didnt want to do damage to them. Certainly helped mike, cheers.

Your welcome, just hope your clips aren't like the ones on the BACK of my car, I had to change the pads last week, and the clip on one side had seased in SOLID, had a right nightmare with it, ended up snapping off inside the caliper..... I had 2 options here, buy another caliper or,,, well I just thought i'd try drilling two new holes for a new retaining clip, a steady hand did the job, and all is well again. I changed many a brake pad in my time, and this is the first clip ive ever come across thats give me that sort of trouble, so im thinking you'll be fine fella.
