bluetba
Sorry - I have already posted this in another thread, but decided perhaps it was the wrong place so will post here instead - duplicate I know, but I am keen to get any suggestions before throwing money at a bad/unsuitable garage. Hi, I have a ford focus 2002 that has started stalling for no apparent reason, it has always had a low idle since we got it, and I have had the speed sensor replaced (apparently) but it still idles as if it is going to stall just never has until now. Now I want to take it to a garage, but having just moved to the area I dont really want to waste time and money on garages who may not be upto the job, so any recommendations? Otherwise what do you think about the choice between back street garage or ford dealership? I was thinking of going to Ford because they are most likely to have the experience and computers to get to the bottom of it quickly and so in the long run be cheaper - or is that flawed thinking??? Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Stoney871
I'd pop to a local garage for a diagnosis first as Ford charge the earth just to lift your bonnet. Personally i reckon that you have a duff Idle Control Valve. It looks like this - Have a look here for refitting/cleaning tips. http://www.fordowner...-control-valve/ http://www.ehow.com/...-iac-valve.html
