frund
How difficult is it to change the brake fluid. My 2004 16000 miles only, Fiesta 1.4, sailed through the MOT but the fluid water content was 6, so a change may be ideal soon. Is this just a case of pumping all the fluid out through the bleeders then refill and bleed OR is there something I should know.
stef123
It's a very simple and easy job. You can use a bleeding aid of you wish but i wouldn't worry about doing so. Basically you need to keep the resevoir topped up, start bleeding from the furthest wheel from the master cylinder. Press the brake pedal, have someone open the bleed nipple and close it after a couple of seconds. Then you can lift your foot and repeat. You are doing this until the fluid changes colour and there are no air bubbles present. If you have a pressure bleeding kit, you just need to connect it to the resevoir and open/close the bleed nipples in turn. You don't need to pump the pedal
