HI

WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE MY V REG 1.8 ZETEC IS GIVING ME A BIG TIME PROBLEM, BASICALLY THE SPEED METER JUST DROPS DOWN TO 0 WHILE AM DRIVING AND THEN THE CAR STOPS RUNNING WHEN I COME TO A STOP.

I HEARD THAT IF I CHANGE THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR (VSS) THAT SHOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM, IS THAT CORRECT AND HAS ANYONE FACED SIMILAR OR THE SAME SITUATION AND GOT THE VSS CHANGED DOES IT FIX THE PROBLEM?.

THANK YOU.

VSS would definitely cause the speedo to drop to zero. If the car only stalls when you come to a stop and the speedos not working then definitely VSS. If it cuts out when you stop and the speedo is working correctly too, I would suggest you have 2 problems the second being faulty Idle Control Valve.
