avoid the michelin my old mans citroen has the and they dont last at all he was shocked but the garage said that many people have had similar issues the optis seem the best tyre out there in my case the fronts were new when i got them th erears was a winter emergency and the garage had limited tyres so it was the haida all i can say is they do have more road noise from them but otherwise i cant fault them when the time comes if i can afford it it will be optis if not Continental as the matador are very impressive

The Energy Savers are not too bad, I bought the car 19,000 miles ago with michellins on the rear, it was at about 6.7 - 7mm however, I am now down to 5mm on the rear, and in that time have gone through a set of Pirelli P6000 on the front!

jeeb I paid £75 per tyre fitted back in late August 2011. Like I say you should get circa £9 discount to what mytres.co.uk are quoting as of now.

Just looked on mytyres website and they are quoting £78.70, so it looks like tyre prices are down on when I bought last. Probably due to the Euro /Pound exchange rate being in the Pounds favour due to the Euro trouble of late.

Avon ZZ3 scored crap in Snow

Edit:

The Optigrip is not the quietest tyre out there jeeb, but that's the price you pay with a grippy tyre. That said in the reviews it scored better than the Conti Premium Contact 2 in the Tyre Wear scoring.
