Fastfordman
A local independent garage would be much better than kwik fit. Got mine done earlier in the year for 45 quid.
Stoney871
Totally agree, With Kwikfit the terms elbow and !Removed! come to mind.
GSM
Don't go to kwik-fit... they're absolutely useless at everything. Go to an independent. It'll be cheaper and there's a better chance they'll know what they're doing. Although I always watch my mechanics at work because I never fully trust anybody - heard far too many horror stories. artscot79
kwik fit use a mnachine theres no involvement by the meachanic really all he does is out the make and model into the machine and connect the hoses the machine then drains the system does a pressure and leak test then refills with the exact amount of refridgeration gas and pag oil

Incompetent con-artists.
artscot79
i have used them for recharges and they use the same machine any aircon specialist would use dont get me wrong i wouldnt let them touch my car for anything else but given the machine is fool proof ive never had any issue

johnH
i went to kwikfit a while back for a refill on my AC. Anyways after about half hour he comes back and says "sorry, the machine has cancelled the fill due to a big leak somewhere" then I braced myself and said "oh right how much do you want" he replies..."if we cant fill it for any reason or the temp doesnt drop by a certain amount then free" so i was happy i got it for free, but miffed that i had a leak...which turned out to be the pipes failing and costing me around £300 to sort in total...new condenser, compressor and pipes....all at dealer.
