salsheikh
Hi Guys, after reading a guide on another forum (ST Owners Club) i decided to go mad and CUT my bonnet to fit some RS vents (replica's) from RSparts (available on ebay). These are bonded on using Sikaflex (Screwfix £8.00). So what do you think?
gc88
Honestly? I think you're mental. Really? I think you're a legend. Can you take a shot with the whole car, a bit further out?
Marcr1
I think they look good and I'd never have the balls to do it :P even if I took it to a garage I don't think I could watch!
Millsy1
give ya credit for going at it. but looks like u done a cracking good job.
gc88
Also, do they mean the engine gets wet through the vents / under them? I'm not au-fait with all this :) I assume a cooler engine = better? Want to do mine? :D
Stoney871
Brave man but a good result.
salsheikh
thanks for the kind comments guys. i've done this before on my Golf MK2 GTI approx 12 years ago using Nissan Primera vents and knew it wasnt too difficult a job. Water will get in but the RS copes fine with it and the diesel should be fine - the engine cover will remain to protect the engine? I will try and take a few more shots of the whole car when the weathers better.

Lenny
looks excellent mate, and the gloss black goes really good with that colour of blue too. a picture from the front would be good mate, with the front lip and the headlights aswell as the bonnet lip and vents all comes togeather nicely, any difference in engine noise with them or turbo wistle ? artscot79
i wouldnt have the balls to cut holes in my bonnet but it looks sweet especially with the deep blue
alkyz89
have you got the rs or st body kit on the car? looks good but i personally think they might look odd on the bog standard focus... looking forward to seeing the car in full!! i bet you were bricking it drilling the first hole lol well done
STEADS
As long as you take your time making your templates and getting the positioning correct before you start any cutting or drilling its not as daunting as it appears i put side vents in my range rover bit apprehensive like you would be at first but just take your time and youll get it right finish off by filing to get an exact fit

salsheikh
thanks guys. Patrick, the bonnet trim is covered in gloss carbon fibre effect film, although black looks just as good. Now, all I have to do is sort out the side skirts and gauges for the pod. Insurance is due this month and its gonna be approx £600! so gotta budget. I was hoping to have it finished for Ford Fair on 12.08.
