Minimischeif
Hi I've just purchased this car and it seems in very good condition, but on idle it keeps reving up and making a noise and I've been told it has a air leek but can find one, will this be the problem? can someone suggest what to do as I have no idea what to do nd rather not take it to a garage if I can mend it myself! Thanks in advance Tracey :-)
Stoney871
Check all the large rubber pipes at the back of the engine for cracks, splits and pinches especially underneath and near the clamps.
stef123
I can't see any details using my phone but what engine does it have? Check the rubber pipes on the manifold for splits. Also worth removing and cleaning the IAC valve
Minimischeif
Hi it is a 1.6 I have checked all pipes but can't find a leak or pinch! :/
Minimischeif
I should add that someone who doesn't wish to help me just sprayed some wd40 down towards the passenger side of the engine and it went silent for about a minuet! Does that help with someone's diagnosis? Thank you
Stoney871
I would check the inlet manifold gasket.
